I'm avoiding registry mechanic

So my machine at work auto-installed some software updates ---- and somehow, Registry Mechanic piggy-backed.

Here's what RM did:
- removed my capacity to access mapped network drives
- removed my system restore files
- it fixed a dozen "problems," then demanded $50

I uninstalled RM immediately, but was unable to fix my mapped drive problem (RM deleted my system recovery files).

I do not recommend RM, at all --- it trashed my computer.

I have used Glary utilities, at home ---- which works just fine.

My own opinion is watch out for this one ---- it will bring you a bad day at work.

I have used Registry Mechanic inn the past with good results. It's not a utility that would piggy back on anything else, and it never makes any changes without operator approval. PC tools who makes it is pretty reliable. Also, the real Registry Mechanic only costs 29.95.

sounds like a malware version made it onto my machine.
