How about they stay in a single line as required so that drivers can pass and not have to wait on the bicyclists to obey the law.
If you live or drive in the area, it is quite annoying to watch and work around the ones who choose to be a nuisance.
Better yet, how about they be required to have license tags on their bikes so that they can be identified and reported. It is not all bicyclists, just some who are a problem. Enough complaints and the problems ones would lose the right to use.

Agree STDS, it is a 2 way street so to speak. Everyone could obey the laws of the land but obviously some don't. So licenses for everyone would make it easier to identify and get the biggest offenders off the road. There isn't a day when there is some offender bicyclist breaking the law on DCC, the Hi Grade and Pleasant Park. And more than likely the bicyclist could say the same about drivers. Let's just get the worst ones, bicyclists and drivers off those roads and make it safer for everyone.

One thing that is making a difference on both sides is the use of inexpensive digital video cameras. I am seeing more and more use of helmet cams on motorcyclists and bicyclists. Most smart phones also have this capability. If you are involved in either a slow down due to bicyclists or road rage by motorists, why not video it. Most people cool their jets if they know they are being videotaped for posterity. This creates a record to back up your claims.

I haven't driven Deer Creek Canyon in a few years now, but if it hasn't changed since then... if you're a cyclist and it's your route of choice... you're taking your life in your own hands each and every time you decide that road is a good idea.
We can talk on here all we want, pass laws until the cows come home, but flying down a road with no bike lanes and hardly any shoulders, on something that weighs less than 1% the weight of the motor vehicles your activities are impeding (since you're probably not going the speed limit, and if we're honest... neither are they), you're risking your life.
I don't care how bicyclists should behave or how vehicles should behave or "lawfully" should behave, when reality conflicts cyclists get hurt and accidents happen. Cyclists are taking it upon themselves to find the "best" routes, without any regard to their own safety, because there is a sense of entitlement. It's the same sense of entitlement that drivers have, and it's the same sense of entitlement that will end up with people getting hurt or killed.

It doesn't do any good at all to video an offending bicyclist because you can't identify them...

Nope, if you're using the road, you should be licensed with a plate to ID you if you're being a booger brain.

When I see them blazing down the mountain doing 30 mph+ I just say they are creating another opportunity to clean out the gene pool.
Yea big license plates so they may be identified.

They weren't riding in single file. These riders are one of the reasons people have little respect for bike riders up here. He shouldn't have hit them or come close to them, but they were not innocent by any means.
