I might be one of the few that think this but I now have yet another reason not to go to Boulder.

I think they should have taken a different approach and offered money back for those that brought their own bags.

Many times when I grocery shop I buy more than will fit in my 6 canvas bags not to mention I typically have a few extra plastic bags to put items in.

What about tourist that come from out of town? Tell you what I am not going to pack canvas bags in my suitcase.

Does anyone know is this just for food stores or is it also retail clothing stores?

It is only $0.10. Cost me about 50 cents extra. And I do recycle them for dog and wastepaper basket liners.

So what? I didn't come up with plastic bags. I prefer paper bags anyhow and they're made from re-whatever it's called.

Just out of curiosity -- who gets the bag money? The store? The city as a fee?

And do they provide paper bags at no cost and only charge for plastic?

(Like I'd ever shop in Boulder anyway . . . . .) lol

Any tyoe of bag cost you .10 be it paper or plastic.

0.04 goes to the retailer and 0.06 goes to the government not sure what fund.

Keep in mind we did go to Boulder about twice a year typically around the holidays so I am not crying about it just really do not have to die for store that I need to go to.

It ws more the fun of the road trip for us.
