We stopped at a local carwash this morning around 9:30. When I swiped my card for the wash nothing happened even though the sign said the wash was open. Decided the wash wasn't open after all and left.
Later this afternoon I had my credit card declined when I attempted to order some merchandise on line from a vendor with whom I have a long track record. I called the bank and found that a fradulent "test" transaction was made earlier today. Since the only other place I used the card was that car wash it had to be there.
Sounds like the test transaction was you swiping at the car wash, then not finishing the transaction and getting the car wash. Were there any buttons to push, or on screen instructions to complete the transaction?
