how do you resolve this theoretical situation

You were looking forward to going with your significant other to a concert - it's her favorite music - and it's a nice chance to do something together. For reasons you don't entirely understand, tickets were not purchased.

You find out a few days before the concert, lose you temper (likely should not have - but oh well) --- and now, you're stuck:
- if you buy tickets (it's not quite sold out - there's a few seats left) she says it's because you got upset, and insisted on buying tickets
- if you don't buy tickets, she's missing her favorite music

Then - you get more angry/frustrated because you're in a no-win situation - and she's frustrated that you're upset - and you're upset that she's frustrated at you're upset --- after all --- you're upset because you wanted to go to a nice concert with her!

Man - the campfire is about as useful as Viagra for a eunuch.

Nobody - the person is male, and Baptist --- that rules out apologies and drinking.

Sounds like a no win. Maybe time to let it blow over and move on to something else to do.

Buy the tickets and go with or without her. Let her know that you would like to spend time with her at this concert even though there was a mistake made about buying the tickets. Buy the tickets and don't tell her, then take her "out" that night and take her to the concert...buy flowers and take her to a nice dinner (if possible).

She may be upset now 'cuz you didn't follow-through at first...but she may get over it if you take her anyways.

If you don't go at all, she may hold that against you.

Couldn't let this one go by. Since we are in the Campfire the nicer version. Give the very best gift you can give to your wife. Since you are Baptist male see your minister and learn how to say I am sorry.

Tougher version. How old are you now? I have always given you credit for being a bright person. But hiding behind male and Baptist is the worst excuse for a Christian I have ever heard.

Been there, done that. There are worse things than missing a concert. You will both get over it. If it is not too late go to a scalper and get the best seats possible. Alternative: go for a late morning hike, followed by a couples message and then an early dinner with good wine and an early nite back home for your own fun with the music that you missed in the background.

Good Luck.

Smile, say "you're right, you're always right." Then go about your business, it won't matter what you do, as the Husband your default setting is to be wrong.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
