1) Buy/build a fleet of these aircraft.
2) Establish a commercial kitchen, think food truck and a trailer for the aircraft.
3) Stand up a website with a menu consisting of foods that fit into the delivery vehicle.
4) Take orders over the web by e-mail, charge a reasonable deposit for the delivery vehicle.
5) Provide an envelope with every order to return the delivery vehicle in, credit each customer's private account or offer an equivalent in store credit on future orders.
6) Convince customers it's really fun to go outside and watch for their order to fall from the sky and then go catch/retrieve it.
A couple of challenges come to mind:
1) Maximum operational range from the food truck? Maybe provide geolocation of the food truck on the website and indicate whether or not a customer is in range by entering their street address or lat/long.
2) Bad weather and darkness? It gets windy often and dark every day when the sun goes down but people are hungry when they are hungry, it would be a shame to have to limit the hours of operation to daytime when weather permits. Assuming that the aircraft can get to the delivery site, the delivery vehicle could be equipped with chem lights, LEDs, and/or reflectors to make it easy to locate as it comes to the ground.
3) Keeping hot food hot and cold food cold? Preheat or prechill the delivery container and insulate it so minimal temperature changes occur over the maximum range of the aircraft.
4) Develop a business plan and find investors and banks just crazy enough to buy into the idea and fund it until the business stands up on it's own and begins to deliver ROI.
I might have to work on this over the holidays and see if it's ready for prime time on April 1st...
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
