I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

Fairbanks, Alaska in early 1960's.........waiting for the school bus at 54 below zero.....so cold you could hear the bus snow tires crunching the ice from a mile away.

My son just got back to Ft WainWright, Fairbanks Alaska. Back to his old unit up there.

For me, onboard the USS GEORGE WASHINGTON CVN-73 we were north of the Artic Circle in late October during training ops over in Norway. It was a -20 without the windchill. Add the fact the ship was doing about 20 knots and myself and one of guys had to go out and fix the windbird on the belknap pole forward of the island structure in this. We just had all kinds of fun.
