The incident, which started with the window smashing, started between 4:30 and 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Mountain Light Unity Church, 27054 N. Turkey Creek Road, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
The church windows were found broken about 6 p.m. as people arrived for a prayer group gathering. While they met, between 6 p.m and 7 p.m., "someone poured a gel-based paint stripper over 17 cars in the parking lot of the church," the sheriff's office said in a media release.
Anyone with information on the incident, or on a possible suspect, is asked to call the sheriff's office tip line at 303 271-5612.
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
