It may be hard to believe that this awe-inspiring image wasn’t created in Photoshop … but alas, a German photographer captured the sight at the split-second a bolt of lightning struck Japan’s Sakurajima volcano as it erupted. After hours of silence, he said the thunderstorm exploded, tossing molten lava balls everywhere.
All we can say is, “wow.”
