I was pretty skeptical when my daughter brought me a bottle of Sambucus yesterday. I had come down with a pretty serious cold and she said it would help immensely.
This morning....My cold symptoms are almost gone. Just a little stuffy but otherwise.....good to go.
Anyone else ever tried this for a cold?

Sambucus (elder or elderberry) is a genus of flowering plants in the family Adoxaceae. It was formerly placed in the honeysuckle family, Caprifoliaceae, but was reclassified due to genetic evidence. It contains between 5 and 30 species of deciduous shrubs, small trees and herbaceous perennial plants.

Medicine

Black elderberry has been used medicinally for hundreds of years.[8][9] Some preliminary studies demonstrate that elderberry may have a measurable effect in treating the flu, alleviating allergies, and boosting overall respiratory health.[10][11]

Elder is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, dissolved in wine, for rheumatism and traumatic injury. [12]

Never heard of this. I do remember a couple bad hangovers from Sambuca. My brother has a degree in herbs. The big issues are how do you determine proper dosage levels, and with many herbs, what works with some doesn't with others.

My daughter brought me a bottle of kids formula. (I am pretty receptive to herbs and drugs) and I take a couple of teaspoons every 4-6 hours.
I am amazed at how much better I feel.
Ask your brother about this. I would be interested to hear his thoughts.
