I read last week that desktop sales are down and people are blaming it on the fact no one wants to buy a buggy Windows 8. I think I will wait for an improved version. My ancient work desktop better not die now.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
There are no good things about windows 8 except one. I have a windows 8 phone and it is more compatible. Otherwise, use the desktop version of windows eight and it almost has all the features. Now that I am used to it (got it in Oct) I am okay but you will have to relearn some stuff. I rarely use the windows eight part, I use the desktop.
It might be better to change this subject to Bad things about Windows 8
New Leaked Version of Windows 8.1, Launch Date September
New leaks for Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 operating system have been frequent in the past few weeks, and the latest leaked version of Windows shows us a Windows 8.1 Pro Preview version. Windows 8.1 is expected to bring the desktop and mobile worlds together meaning that secondary OS’ like Windows 8 RT will be scrapped in favour of a unified solution. Windows 8.1 represents the first major overhaul of Windows 8 since its incredibly disappointing release performance – sales of Windows 8 have been very low, and Dell have even blamed Microsoft for their declining financial situation that Windows 8 has apparently caused.
Y'all should just move over to Macs now and save yourself the headache!
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
I have yet to find Macs to be worth the cost of switching, and I don't see them working towards what I want.....a good, fast, tablet that runs software not just aps. I want to be able to use financial and tax software on a tablet......a true laptop replacement, not an addition to a laptop. Microsoft is on the right path with the Surface Pro....but it isn't there yet.
