Hi - I am new to 285 Bound but have been a Pine resident since 2003.
Out of a personal need for support, and learning that there are others that need similar support, Single Women in the Mountains Network (SWMN) has been created.
Check out http://www.swmn.co
SWMN is a network of women to uplift, encourage, help, support, women who are single in our greater mountain community.
This network is in its fledgling state so bear with me as the scope of the website grows to serve the needs of the women we aim to support.
If you are a single woman by choice, divorce, separation, widowed, employment, or deployment, SWMN is here as social, spiritual, and practical support.
To expand your social circles of like women: for casual get togethers for things like a night on the town, shopping, going to the movies, or just hanging out with good company and having a good laugh.
For the spiritual growth: just when we thought we were all grown-up we turn the corner and find out that there is more to learn. SWMN is a place for women to learn how to grow to their greatest potential, to remember how to live full lives, with dignity, hope, love, laughter, worthiness, and respect.
Lastly, for the practical support of single women with or without children. A place to learn about finances, legal issues, help around the house, relationships, women's health, recommended handyman and local service providers, great places to eat out or hear some good music, places to take the kids & family, great shopping deals, fun opportunities in the greater Colorado area.
I hope to have a kick-off evening in the near future so please submit your contact information on the website so I can get that ball rolling!
We all need some support now and then... please pass the word and tell your girlfriends
SWMN - Single Women in the Mountains Network - meets officially for the first time:
Monday, June 10, 6-9pm
at the Mountain Resource Center (MRC)
11030 Kitty Dr, Conifer, CO 80433
If you have signed up, or meet the criteria (a single woman in the mountains!), you are welcome to attend.
The purpose of the meeting will be to meet other like women to expand your network, for social, spiritual, and practical support.
Time for meet & greet, chit-chat, and viewing of the documentary movie, Happy, amongst new girlfriends.
There will be a few other nice things if I can work it out!
Unfortunately, child-care cannot be provided at the MRC but the network should be able to hook you up with a quality sitter if needed!
We hope you can make it - if you can't there will be other opportunities to get together. If you have submitted your contact information at http://www.swmn.co than look forward to receiving an Evite!
Thank you for the info KatMC, we'll add it to our community calendar!
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
