Conifer, CO – Jennifer Eleniewski, President of Creekside Insurance has added yet another title to her lengthy community service resume: Chairman for the Friends of Elk Creek. Friends of Elk Creek is a citizens committee formed to support the Elk Creek Fire Protection District's public service mission through outreach and education.
Mrs. Eleniewski is well known for her tireless community service. She’s active in a number of causes and organizations, most notably the Conifer Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors where she has served since 2008.
Recently Mrs. Eleniewski learned of a challenge facing the community: As a result of reductions in property tax revenues the Elk Creek Fire Protection District is facing a severe budget short fall. Currently two tanker trucks and one fire engine are nearing the end of their service lives, and there is no money available to replace them.
Unless this situation is remedied, the department will be forced to retire its outdated apparatus and close one of its stations. This will trigger a downgraded in the community’s insurance rating, resulting in dramatic (double-digit) increases in home and business owners insurance premiums. Friends of Elk Creek will work to see that this does not happen.
We welcome Mrs. Eleniewski and thank her for taking the lead in this worthy cause.
Jennifer is an amazing woman, and cares very much about this community - she will be great at leading this effort, just as she was for us as President of the Chamber. Congratulations to her and the Elk Creek Fire Department and thank you for all your efforts assisting this community!
