At the ECFD BOD Meeting, Chief McLaughlin is presenting Level of Service Committee Report. Made two recommendations:
Operationally: restore one position of three cut
Budget: make significant changes to fleet. Eliminate 8 of 25 vehicles by purchasing vehicles capable of doing more than one job at a time. It's reduces capital investment needed per year by about $100,000 (from $390,000 at current level to replace what is in fleet-no capital investment occurring at this time).

Chief recommends a
1.6mill permanent levy
0.9 temporary mill for vehicles until they are purchased
2.5 mill total

Attorney is discussing issues related to that. Has submitted recommendations to board in draft form for their review, but they must vote tonight if they will be submitting for a mill in order to get it on the ballot.

Motion to appoint Rhonda Davis from Attorney's office as district representative to begin process of putting mill levy on ballot, notify both JeffCo and ParkCo. This is not an absolute, they can decide not to finish request.

All board members voted unanimously in favor. Board will complete due diligence reviewing all recommendations from Chief and Attorney, contact attorney with decision by end of the month. Update will be made at next BOD Meeting.

Fire Chief Report
144 calls run in June, a record. Overlapped incidents 116 times, meaning at least one other apparatus was already out when another call came in.

13 fires total, 7 wildfires, 6 other (vehicle, etc)
Several fires responded to outside of district: Bluebell, Lime Gulch

Average response unsurprisingly time decreased to 9:37, about a minute longer than quieter months.

Recruit academy completed successfully, graduated 22nd of June. 15 new firefighters.

Answering a lot of phone calls from residents about insurance rates and mitigation.

Got a matching grant to purchase laptops to replace ones that are literally falling apart.

Submitted reimbursement of $136,000 for Black Forest, Canyon City, and other fire outside of district.

Meeting is adjourned. I will try to get the video up as soon as possible.
