48 degrees? A bit chilly for July isn't it? I'm almost ready to crank up the pellet stove.

Nice, isn't it.

The windows are open and I'm hoping the ceiling fan won't be needed tonight.

I'm loving it! I'm looking forward to a good nights sleep and maybe even a blanket on the bed for once in July! Wundermutt is in heaven, he pulled his bed over to the northern window of the Cave and is enjoying the cool air.

Heck, if it stays cool like this I might even eat three meals a day tomorrow. The Wundermutt is looking for handouts but when it has been as hot as it has been I stop cooking so his shadowing me into the kitchen for hand outs has been mostly fruitless.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Might even slow down the steady stream of cityits that come up here to shoot their glass bottles to pieces in our woods...

Or they'll get up here, be half frozen overnight, and whine about the weather to the MSM. Either way, what it takes to repel the moronic flat landers is fine with me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti tourism, I'm anti dumbass. Folks that visit our forests and leave campfires burning when they leave need to be punished.

Aren't we all anti-dumbass? tongue: (except for those too dumb to realize that they are the dumbasses. Hmm...)

If it snows before Aug 24, I'm gonna be pissed. It's summer dammit!

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Fall and Winter are the best seasons of the year in Colorado. Crank up the fireplace and celebrate football games with family and friends with huge feasts! Go for a drive and enjoy the colors in fall while they last, stop off for a good meal along the way. IMHO it just doesn't get better than that.

For the record, I only refer to "cityits" when talking about the people who don't respect the land and others who want to use it. Somehow I don't think you're in that category SC.

Got an email from my niece this morning asking if they needed to bring warmer clothing for their visit based on AccuWeather's extended forecast for the first week of August. It shows us with lows of 30° and 32°. Yikes!
