Cabela's two stores are open. Yeah!

DENVER - Cabela's opened its doors Thursday in two new locations - one in Lone Tree and one in Thornton.

People started camping out Wednesday afternoon, hoping to grab a gift card Thursday morning from the outdoor outfitter store.

The first 500 customers through the doors got a gift card worth up to $500.

I love Cabelas but will wait a week or two before we go so the crowds clear.

Crowds at Bass pro aren't bad at all anymore, except when they have their frequent "event" days. I was there the other day to get some ammo and walked right up to the register and checked out.

Cabelas is crazy right now...drove by the lonetree location and they are using overflow parking.

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

I get dragged to Bass Pro at Christmas every year. The "Annual MsMam" trip. Maybe I should try a different time.

My understanding.....BOTH locations are scaled DOWN from the store in St.Louis.....that store
is massive....(I was truly impressed with the selection, ambiance and "experience" of the St. Louis
store, but that was at least 10 years ago).....

One of my friends son works at the Lone Tree store and invited me to their friends and family sale the night before they opened. Where was I? The Florida panhandle on business. :faint:

It's probably better that way, I would have spent too much and bought more ammo and stuff that I already have plenty of. I think I'll give it a couple of weeks and then take a half day from work and check it out on a Wednesday afternoon. I might have to cash in the 6 gallon carboy full of coins next to my desk before I go.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
