They are cool but they still creep me out.
Moths and spiders are just two things I don't deal well with.

Very! but it left me with the question, do hummingbirds eat moths or other bugs?

Yes. Hummers will eat small bugs while in flight. I was fishing on Bear Creek by the Church of the Transfiguration and watched a hummer fly into a swarm of small gnats about 3 feet above the water. It just hovered there picking them out of the sky one by one for about 5 minutes. They need protein too.
