I am afraid to go look at what is left of my driveway. The pond is full and running down the yard. The good news....we now have a seasonal creek to go with the pond. Gotta find the positives where you can.

On the plus side? Grand Junction just went from drought conditions to normal yearly rainfall amounts. (It is better to not make up months of drought in one week.)

Wish Utah could get some of this rain. Lake Powell was 90 ft low this year.

Locally, Bear Creek is running just under 400 cfs and is increasing slightly although rain has dissipated.
The ground is oversaturated so any additional rainfall will directly affect creek flows. More storms expected this afternoon.
http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv?06710385

There are some areas where the creek has run over into private property but have not encroached any roadways.
A couple private bridges that cross the creek above Evergreen Lake could possible be washed over.
Lots of debris has been flushed into Evergreen Lake, but is not a hazard to the drinking water supply.
Water is pouring over the entire width of the dam at a depth of about 4 inches.
There are several areas on Hwy 74 between Evergreen and Morrison where some rocks have fallen into the roadway

DO NOT attempt to wade into any part of local creeks.
The local stream clean-ups scheduled for this weekend have been cancelled.

Army Corps of Engineers have closed the spillway gates at Bear Creek Reservoir and the reservoir elevation could increase another 8-9 feet. This will change the water quality within that reservoir. Bear Creek is flooding into Bear Creek Reservoir at over 700 cfs now. This flow is about 25 times greater than long-term average.

500-year event? :faint:
