Its funny to see you rightwingnut haters having all this love for animals..(which are much bigger threats to your lives than "The Terrorists!") while at the same time you warmongers want to let sick human beings die, and have our poor and elderly people living under bridges..Were your parents Tough Lovers or somethin?

Who would you rather have as a neighbor, a furry, foul smelling carrion eater or a bear?
I get a bear (or bears) visiting about once a week, usually between 2-4 am in the morning. I know when they are on the property, because my husky starts his "bear bark."
I usually go out on the porch and watch the antics. Normally the bear(s) are about 5 feet away from me.
I have a flip top garbage bin right on the outside of the front porch, on the other side of the small fence around the porch. I modified it so there is no way the bear(s) can open it short of tearing through the plastic.
Two nights ago there was a mother and two cubs. One of the cubs had knocked the bin on it's side and one of the cubs was trying to stand on top of it. The cub keep sliding off, rather clumsy cub.
When they saw my husky, they ran off. Mom came back and she wasn't going to have none of that slipping and sliding and being clumsy. She tried to open the top, managed to flex the plastic top enough to get a paw inside, but she couldn't really pull any of the garbage out of the bin.
I stood there watching this and she finally walked off.
A bear knows it's near the top of the food chain and they are not really interest in "human meat." They basically ignore you unless you make a defensive move toward them.
I'm not sure what the problem is. They are basically harmless and it's a treat to watch nature in action.
Your fear is what causes the trouble. Chill out. They are marvelous animals.

You get stuck in it...Its a big barrel with bait in the back of it
Really? And how do they get the bear out once it's trapped? Think, vl, think. Visualize the release on the outside of the trap. Try hard -- I think you can do it. :faint:

Actually, what's wrong are your talking points . . . they're all lies and distortions. Just because we don't want individual welfare to be a function of the federal government doesn't by default establish that we don't support such efforts being the responsibility of a level of republican government closer to us which is more responsive to our needs and over which we may exercise more control. I am firmly of the opinion that the poor and elderly would be much better cared for if those tax dollars were being sent to our local government than they are being sent to Washington D.C. where the voices of our elected officials are barely heard compared to those eminating from other, more populous, States.

I don't have to opportunity to say this very often, but VL is right Gramma. A bear trap is a big barrel on trailer wheels with a gate that is tripped when bait at the back of the trap is disturbed. The way they release the bear is to tow the trap to where they plan to release the bear and have one DOW employee stand on top of the trap and release the gate while another covers him with a rifle in case the bear turns to attack. 99.999% of the time the bear is so terrified after the ordeal it has been through that it hightails it as fast as it can for the cover of the timber, but there are exceptions.
A person could trip the trap without entering it if they wanted to though. They'd have to get on top of the trap to do it, and who knows if there is visual monitors set up nearby, but it can be done.
ETA: VL - I think you misspelled your new name. Not sure if you were trying for doughy or douche, but either way you got it wrong. lol
