Which was my point. Walking in and getting trapped isn't the only way to trip the trap.

You get stuck in it...Its a big barrel with bait in the back of it

Really? And how do they get the bear out once it's trapped? Think, vl, think. Visualize the release on the outside of the trap. Try hard -- I think you can do it. :faint:

They get on top and slide up the 150 pound door...

I don't have to opportunity to say this very often, but VL is right Gramma. A bear trap is a big barrel on trailer wheels with a gate that is tripped when bait at the back of the trap is disturbed. The way they release the bear is to tow the trap to where they plan to release the bear and have one DOW employee stand on top of the trap and release the gate while another covers him with a rifle in case the bear turns to attack. 99.999% of the time the bear is so terrified after the ordeal it has been through that it hightails it as fast as it can for the cover of the timber, but there are exceptions.

Thanks for the backup mate! She don't know sh** about Bear Traps

When we put the trap out, we usually get a bear the first night..Here's the secret..Lots of rotting fruit. That Bear is probably snuggeling down for the night on the West Slope right now
