The 2013 Harvest Moon for the Northern Hemisphere comes a bit early this year, on the night of September 18-19.

Last evening I was driving back from Westcliffe which, except for accidentally running over a huge snake, was an incredible drive. Just when I thought it couldn't be any more beautiful, a few miles inside the Park County line I came up over a ridge and WOW!!! The moon had just crested the horizon! It was ginormous in size and spicy, red-orange in color! Several drivers pulled over just to take it all in. It was truly breathtaking. It's one of those times I regret not having my Nikon in the front seat next to me but it is forever saved in my memories and my heart will always be grateful to our Creator for this was truly a gift from above.
