5 indicted in drug ring
By CHRIS HUNTER Salina Journal | Tuesday, October 01, 2013

Five people with ties to Salina were indicted last month for alleged participation in a drug ring and laundering money through banks, and more people could face charges. Norton said that Geary Vaughan, 25, of Conifer, Colo.; Casey and Alyssa Nickelson, both 24, 1330 Crescent; Nickolas Berthelson, 34, of Branson, Mo.; and Luis Beltran, 26, 1414 Rush, allegedly sold drugs in Salina, Newton and laundered the proceeds through various bank accounts between Jan. 14, 2011, and August 2013. Vaughan and Berthelson originally were from Salina, he said.

Norton said the investigation began Jan. 14, 2011, when the U.S. Postal Inspectors Office alerted the Drug Task Force of a package being mailed that contained 1445 grams of marijuana, nine grams of cocaine and $6,500. An investigation linked the package to Vaughan as the supplier.

Vaughan was arrested Aug. 30 in Conifer, Colo., by members of the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Marshal's Service, Metro West Drug Task Force and other law enforcement agencies. Officials seized 162 live marijuana plants, growing equipment, packaged marijuana and two handguns.

Yeahhhh get 'em!!

After seeing the huge illegal grow in the White River National Forest, I suspect we will be seeing some illegal crops growing everywhere.

And of course there will be illegal marketers of the product. So I say get 'em all.
