Where to see fall colors this weekend

Other areas that should be nearing the fall color peak include the Sawatch Range in Lake and Chaffee counties, Summit County, Crested Butte, Guanella Pass, Boreas Pass and the San Juan Mountains near Telluride, Ouray and Silverton.

Leaf-peepers heading north to see the colors need to watch the weather. A winter storm was bearing down on areas north of Interstate 70 in the high country, with up to a foot of snow expected Thursday.

Kenosha pass will be better on Saturday while it is too cold for leaf watchers. Better weather on Sunday = more people.

Also try Mt Evans Road from Evergreen to Summit Lake or the Echo Lake area. I think Mt Evans Road closes after this weekend.

Hall Valley Road (Park county Road 60?) and Guanella pass road are nice too.
