From Bailey MOPS :

•THIS SUNDAY...
This Sunday right after church –11:30 in the Fellowship Hall @ Platte Canyon Community Church.
Come and be a kid again. Dress up in a costume if you want.

Play games with the kids such as ring toss, bean bag or “go fishing”. Prizes of candy for the kids who participate and bring a bag to hold treats.

Cornerstone Club will be serving hot dogs, chips and soda for everyone attending. They are asking for donations to support Cornerstone.

Come and bring your grandchildren and your neighbors and your kids!!!

Call Dianne 303-589-6876 if you would like to help with a game or need more info.

•THURSDAY, OCTOBER 31ST...

After you've collected all that tooth-rotting, obesity-causing candy for your kids, here's an idea for cutting down on the amount you have! The Halloween Candy BuyBack Program in which participating dentist offices buy your kids' candy at $1/lb (or barter for) and package it to send to our troops overseas! Evergreen Dental Group is participating, but if you'll be down in the city, you can search on the website below for other offices that might be closer. They are hoping to collect other items for the troops as well (listed below) so you can donate those instead if you don't have kids collecting candy or just want to do more!

About the Program
Thank you for your interest in the Halloween Candy Buyback program and for your thoughtfulness in providing the candy to Operation Gratitude for our Holiday Care Packages. Operation Gratitude will be sending 60,000 care packages (including our Milestone Package in December) and we need tons of candy, literally, to fill them! Last year, we received and shipped 127.5 TONS! We hope you will participate in this worthwhile and fun activity!

This year, we welcome your participation even without paying the children $1/pound for the candy! Alternative ideas you can use -- "goody bags" with dental hygiene products, coupons from local businesses, and/or entries into a drawing for a special prize, etc.

This year, we have another new addition to the program: We hope to receive 100,000 Toothbrush/Toothpaste sets to include in the care packages with the candy! Please help us reach this important goal.

We invite you to "like" us on our Halloween Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/HalloweenCandy (where we will be sharing lots of new Halloween Candy ideas and updates) and on the Operation Gratitude page: http://www.facebook.com/OperationGratitude for overall information about our program.

Additional items you might consider collecting for our program:

Commercially sealed Lip Balm, toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, mouthwash
Beanie Babies/WebKinz or other small stuffed animals
Hand-Knit/Crochet Scarves and Hats
Socks (dark colors are best)
Small packages Beef Jerky
Energy/Protein Bars
Individual Packets of Hot Cereal
DVD's / CD's
Personal Letters of Appreciation
