The Song Writer John Denver

There was a man many years ago
A simple man at that he knew how to speak
He sang songs that made people think deeply
This man was poor but not poor in the music he sang
He sang songs of simple things that people take for granted this day and age
Great songs about mountain tops that seem to never end
Or the sun that comes up each and every morning to greet us each day
Without skipping a single beat
The great artist sang many wildlife songs
About eagles that soar so high higher then the mountain tops
He sang about the cute grizzly bear that we would like to hug
Sadly my dear friend we can not
But he makes us wish we could
Seeing the sky in ways that normal people can't
Hearing the sounds of the rivers and lakes
Making music that some can't hear
He sits there watching and listening
He listens for movement so that he can create
To create music to make us cry
To create music to make us wonder
To create music to open our eyes
He makes us know what life is meant to be
His name is John Denver
A man that was taken from us too soon
A man who wanted to soar with the eagles
A man who wanted to see what they saw
It seems that he could talk to eagles
The funny thing I think he actually could
For all this I give him the Indian name Sky walker
