Mine was about age 6. Many Moons Ago.
Me and my brother who was about 4 yrs old had the best Christmas and the last good Christmas that I can remember in my childhood

Santa came in his Red and White Suit, and I pulled his beard and he yelled ouch!

One year the whole family went to Midnight Mass and when we came home, all the gifts were in front of the tree. We were at the age where we were starting to doubt Santa so it was amazing.
Another time we were all at dinner in the dining room and the doorbell rang and all our presents were at the door. More shock.
But most shocking was the time we had a bird flying around the house while we were opening presents! Turns out my mom had bought us a parakeet as a surprise and had it hidden in the closet. The cat let it out somehow and was chasing it around the house. Boots loved his Christmas present too.

The year my brother got married, just before heading to Viet Nam. The wedding was in NYC the day after Christmas, also my birthday. We spent Christmas eve at Rockefeller Center, it was snowing lightly, there were Carolers everywhere, people on the ice rink. It was like Norman Rockwell illustration. On Christmas we wandered the streets of NY, Macy's windows we're awesome, everything closed but the people on the streets treated everyone like family.
