A Few Announcements & a Contest w/a $100 Prize!

Hello Everyone!

First, we'd like to welcome Mountain Girl House & Office Cleaning and Franie Bassett, CPA , our newest Business Partners! We hope you will visit their Profile Pages to learn more about them, and help support all of our wonderful Business Partners who've helped support us!

An important note about a software glitch that was discovered in our system and "fixed". Although previously allowed, member usernames that have a space in them (ie My Mountain Town) are now no longer allowed. :( If you have a username with a space, you can still use it until such time as you need to change your password, update your Profile, etc, then it will give you an error message not allowing it until your username has been edited. We apologize most profusely for this change, it is unfortunately out of our control and was enacted in October by our software provider; it's a done deal and we have to make do.

The good news is, it's easy to change your name! Just go to the User Control Panel at the top right hand corner, click on Profile, then Edit account settings. Edit your username to either have no spaces (MyMountainTown), or an _ underscore (My_Mountain_Town) or other acceptable character, enter your current password at the bottom, then hit Submit. Just remember your new username when logging back in. Again, our apologies for the inconvenience.

On to the fun news!
One of our members is so enjoying the Twas the Night Before MMT Christmas thread concept, that they called to offer a $100 gift card prize to the Business Partner of the winners choice, for the person who posts the favorite creative Christmas poem on that thread, as decided by a vote that we will start Monday December 16th! We'll create a voting thread that morning with all of the posted entries and everyone can vote on their favorite - you choose who wins!

To participate, you'll have to be a member to post your verse on this thread by 11:59pm Sunday December 15th: http://mymountaintown.com/forums/the-campfire/30130
If you haven't joined yet, now's the perfect time to do so! :)

It doesn't have to be a completion of Twas the Night Before Christmas, it can be any Christmas song, verse, poem, etc; but, it does have to be original and include My Mountain Town in some way! You have all weekend to submit your entries, no limit to the number of entries per member.

We can't wait to see what you come up with! (Please keep it clean though, so we can keep this in The Campfire. LOL).

Lastly:
We are doing a short presentation at the Conifer Area Chamber of Commerce Membership Meeting tomorrow at 7:15am, at Brooks Place Tavern. We'd love for you to attend and learn more about the benefits and ways of using MyMountainTown.com! The meeting is open to all, and the breakfast is delicious (Chef Joe takes good care of us)! It's $10 for Chamber members, $15 for non-members.

This sounds like fun I will have to see if I can come up with something. I hope others will help move the other thread forward as I and stumped with Jelly and Belly.

Thanks SC

As long as this isn't phoney VL money, maybe I'll give this a shot! And good job HappyCamper!

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
