"You might not know this, but owners Megan and Gary made a special effort to save what they had on hand for donation to EChO, in the middle of the rising flood waters!" said Sharon Smith, executive director of Evergreen Christian Outreach. "We received a truck load of bread, refrigerated, and frozen items in between the two flood crests, just as the National Guard was sandbagging the restaurant for the second, and higher, crest."
EChO has declared Wednesday, January 29th, EChO Day at Cactus Jack's to show its thanks for their generosity in a time of extreme crisis. The public is encouraged to stop by, have lunch, a beer, dinner, or whatever on this day – but showing support of Cactus Jack's works on any day now that they've reopened.
"EChO is Neighbors Helping Neighbors, and so is Cactus Jack's!" Sharon exclaimed.
