"ove your neighborhood coffee joint but feel a lack of feline energy? Check out Japan's cat cafés, where cat lovers can pay to play with furry felines all while enjoying a relaxing beverage or snack.

The concept began in Taiwan in 1998, but has found a special foothold in Japan, where more than 150 cat cafés have opened in the last ten years. One planned for Boston can't seem to get off the ground, but the one planned for San Francisco is making good progress. What a hoot.

Perhaps, but how do the cats feel about it? They could have been single family or even single person cats who were sold into slavery.

Knowing how attached our cats are to us, I feel a little sorry for store cats.

Cats are Indies.....maybe I might come over to see, maybe I might not....let me flip a coin....had
cats all of my life...some were like dogs, came when you called, wanted to be your bestest friend
some others....not so much,"let me get back to you later"...... seems like a good
way for both species to get what they want.....

BB, the article I read said that the cats would come from local shelters after being verified in good health, socialized, and able to get along with other cats.
