The deadline for filing for the Board of Directors seats was yesterday at 1700. Only the 3 incumbents filed, so the election will be cancelled.
I am personally happy, not just because this will save the district $15,000 in election costs, but also because this board has been excellent to work with. The public gave the fire district a vote of confidence at the November election; this too I see as a vote of confidence in the direction this department is headed.
I want to thank everyone in this department for the professionalism and support that has created that confidence on the part of our community.
