For some things, maybe, like scanning news on a daily basis.... But for reading novels, no way. I savor the time I read for pleasure and have no desire to speed up that process. Somehow the idea of relaxing in the hammock with a good book on a warm spring day does not jive well with speed reading.

Yes, sometimes I hit a phrase that needs to be savored.
