When was the last time you went?
I went last year, my BIL wanted to go for his birthday and it wasn't as bad as I expected.
And the place was pretty full.
Remember the time people accused them of using dog food? I think that was in the 70's.

Hmm, I think it was about 5-6 years ago. One of my friends insisted on going there for his 40th birthday, then the following year we took my oldest for his birthday when family came into town. The diving show is always fun. The food still sucks, but at least it didn't make us sick!
Now I know why I saw this on a CO facebook page recently, I didn't realize it was Casa Bonita's anniversary. They are doing something right, staying in business that long, kudos to the owners!
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

Even back in the last 70's the ONLY thing worth eating were the LIGHT as air, browned just
right, honey laden fried treats!.....NOW, not too far from Casa Bonita, like about a block or two
was The Cordial...now THAT was good mexican food....it was a dive, but had THE best green
chili burritos.
I started with AT&T back in 1976....Long Lines Overseas Center was in Casa Bonita's almost
back yard....but The Cordial had ALL of the business for that Operating Center.....a walk down
memory lane
Taking about places close by...does anyone remember a chicken place in the same parking lot that would have a model train running around the restaurant. I want to say it was called "the Drumstick".

YEP....don't remember the name tho....I'm STILL amazed that Davies Chuck Wagon Diner (with
the horse on top of the roof) is STILL there....it's a little further up on Colfax by 1-70....we
ate there couple months ago....they have SERVICE (and food) down to PERFECTION....good
place to eat, but it is ALWAYS packed unless you are there early.
I have only been to Davies a couple times. One time we ate near the grill. The salt wouldn't come out because there was too much grease in the holes of the shaker.

WOW I did not know that....I thought the building downtown was the original....
That is one of the reasons it is pink. I think it was the original May Department Store before they became May D&F. It is not in the original spot, but was moved to where it is now.
