Sigh. I think of it as the advanced technology procurement act for the employment of useless Admirals who like to feel important by bossing around large a large directorate filled with people who spin their wheels.
I wouldn't turn down a tour or the opportunity to ride along on a VIP cruise. I'd like to get to know the ins and outs of this new class of destroyer but the stuff I want to know is going to be classified for sure.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Yea, just because I think it was an extended boondoggle doesn't mean I would not like to go aboard. I would settle for a confidential tour of the sonar shack if there is one. Now it might just be designated counsels in CIC.
I have to believe that the CIC on the Zumwalt class destroyers isn't going to look like anything you or me would recognize; the equivalent of the fighter jets glass cockpit adapted to destroyers.
With the recent advent of the rail gun I want to know more about how much electrical power is on board, I bet that qualifying for the the Electronic Technician rate has recently gotten a lot more complicated and involves some high voltage issues!
