It's an older article so it doesn't have a more detailed timeline. The Chief did go over this a bit in the last ECFPD BOD meeting, but I haven't had time to process it yet, my apologies.

Evergreen Fire becomes dispatch center
At least five other mountain agencies will rely on new arrangement

EVERGREEN —Evergreen Fire and Rescue will be the main dispatch center for at least five other mountain agencies after the Jefferson County Emergency Communications Authority authorized the initial funding to handle the extra load.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has been dispatching for Jeffco fire departments in addition to its own law enforcement. It will continue to be the 911 call center and will forward mountain fire events to Evergreen dispatch.

So far, the Elk Creek, Intercanyon, Indian Hills, Foothills and North Fork fire protection districts have agreed to make the switch, according to Weege.

The authority will begin by paying Evergreen for its dispatch services in the first year. The districts will be responsible for paying for their own services in increasing increments of 25 percent per year. That means that by 2018, agencies will be covering those costs in full.

The Flume does not stock open racks (except Safeway). They use pay boxes. If you are in the Aspen Park area, there is a pay box at the post office and the liqueur store around the corner (on the west side service road).

Maybe this will help. Single copies are 75 cents.

Picked up a copy of the Flume article. Thank you RR for following through and making it available here.

Very informative and well written article. I hope you write more for the Flume. Then I might consider a subscription, although my residence is in Conifer so I think it is outside their area resulting in more costs?

When all get on board I can see it could possibly make a difference, especially for those of us in Conifer who live on the edge of several different fire departments.

The only issue I see is for those who live in Bailey, niece, who has called in fires that are in the Platte Canyon Fire or North Fork Fire District, e.g. Lost Acres area, ParkCo Dispatch will have to convey her Lat and Long who will then contact Evergreen instead of being in direct contact with NFFD. I hope nothing gets lost in the conveyance.

Thank you, RR!. Very good article.

I think it is important information for all who live in, or are interested in, the area.
