Anticipation of snow necessitates resceduling
(Conifer) – Due to possible inclement weather on May 12th, 2014, the maintenance outage by Intermountain Rural Electric Association and Xcel Energy has been cancelled and rescheduled to May 15th, 2014. The new outage time will be from 10:00pm to approximately 2:00am to conduct the required maintenance. Notice of the change is being sent to affected IREA customers, both in writing and by recorded message.
The maintenance work will be conducted on the transmission line that serves customers along the Highway 285 corridor from Tiny Town to Conifer. The work was originally scheduled to take place on Monday, but due to forecasts of snow in the area that day, it was decided that the work needed to be delayed in order to be completed safely and without risking any unplanned outages resulting from the weather.
The electric utilities hope to hold the duration of the outage to four hours; the actual time it takes to complete the system maintenance may vary and is weather-dependent.
If inclement weather occurs that will not allow the work to take place on May 15th, the outage will be rescheduled for a later date to be determined. If the work needs to be rescheduled, affected customers will be notified of the change.
