IREA and Xcel schedule maintenance outage for Conifer area transmission line.

Repair work expected to take four hours.

(Conifer) – Intermountain Rural Electric Association will be working with Xcel Energy on May 12, 2014 to conduct necessary maintenance to the transmission line that serves customers along the Highway 285 corridor from Tiny Town to Conifer. The maintenance outage is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to approximately 2:00 p.m. Intermountain customers who are in the affected area will receive a letter in the mail the week of April 28th from IREA to notify them of the scheduled outage.

The electric utilities hope to hold the duration of the outage to four hours; the actual time it takes to complete the system maintenance may vary and is weather-dependent.

If inclement weather occurs that will not allow the work to take place on May 12th, the outage will be rescheduled for May 15th from 10:00 a.m. to approximately 2:00 p.m. If the work needs to be rescheduled, affected customers will be notified of the change.

For questions regarding the scheduled maintenance outage, please contact Michael C. Kaine with Intermountain Rural Electric Association at (720) 733-5750, or visit our website at http://www.irea.coop .

Anticipation of snow necessitates resceduling
(Conifer) – Due to possible inclement weather on May 12th, 2014, the maintenance outage by Intermountain Rural Electric Association and Xcel Energy has been cancelled and rescheduled to May 15th, 2014. The new outage time will be from 10:00pm to approximately 2:00am to conduct the required maintenance. Notice of the change is being sent to affected IREA customers, both in writing and by recorded message.
The maintenance work will be conducted on the transmission line that serves customers along the Highway 285 corridor from Tiny Town to Conifer. The work was originally scheduled to take place on Monday, but due to forecasts of snow in the area that day, it was decided that the work needed to be delayed in order to be completed safely and without risking any unplanned outages resulting from the weather.
The electric utilities hope to hold the duration of the outage to four hours; the actual time it takes to complete the system maintenance may vary and is weather-dependent.
If inclement weather occurs that will not allow the work to take place on May 15th, the outage will be rescheduled for a later date to be determined. If the work needs to be rescheduled, affected customers will be notified of the change.
For questions regarding the scheduled maintenance outage, please contact the Intermountain Rural Electric Association Conifer District Office at (303) 674-9759, or visit our website at www.irea.coop .

We should schedule a monthly outage...for maybe 1/3 hour, at about 9 or 10 pm. Maybe we would all think about turning some lights off at night once in awhile.
