The Mexican Army won the Battle of the Puebla today in 1862 over French forces.
The win was short lived however because French forces rallied and eventually captured all of Mexico and ruled it until 1867, when America provided military and economic aid to drive out the French puppet government.

I read that but I think they are trying to make the battle sound more important than it was.
In a history of the French Foreign Legion, some of the battles they highlighted took place in this occupation. Puebla, the town, thinks it is a huge turning point for sure.
