In an effort started almost two years ago. Ford is working with Heinz, Coca-Cola, Nike and Procter & Gamble on research into plant-based plastics for car parts.
Heinz researchers approached Ford when they were looking to recycle peels, stems and seeds from 2 million tons of tomatoes used annually to make ketchup.
Hmm "...stems and seeds..." you say? Kind of makes me wonder what exactly their smoking in the Motor City...
All jokes aside, if it's viable and it doesn't require petrochemicals then I suppose it's worth pursuing, if you can take something that's normally waste and turn it in to useful products then that's the right way forward as long as the price point isn't too high for the market to bear.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

I want to know if any of the tomato products will be incorporated into the airbag system. What happens when the airbags deploy? Instead of an air bag does a giant catchup packet come out instead? If so that's going to be confusing for first responders!
