Baby Moose Wanders in to Vail Hotel

VAIL – A Vail hotel had a special visitor Wednesday. A moose calf wandered into the lobby of the Lionshead Hotel at Antlers at Vail and had a hard time finding its way out.

Michael Brown captured cell phone video of the frightened animal as it tried to figure out its surroundings.

According to the Vail Daily, wildlife officials later caught up with the calf and tranquilized it. The animal will be sent to Fort Collins where it will be cared for at a facility there.

AND THE REST OF THE STORY.....per Vail paper....Children were chasing the calf and it ran into
the Hotel for refuge...... calf is about 1 week old...then it ran out and the Wildlife
officers caught up with it....I just want to SMACK the sh** out of the parents for not teaching
kids to LEAVE WILDLIFE ALONE!! Shot full of drugs at ONE WEEK OLD..... The
parents should have been EVICTED FROM THE HOTEL AS GUEST IF IT WAS THEIR CHILDREN

My dad always said "nothing says I love you like a big red hand print on your ass..." My ex-wife disagreed but it turned out she wasn't very good at taking direction either so that's why she's my ex-wife now.

I found the video slightly disturbing and I didn't know the back story about why the moose ended up in the hotel lobby. It was clear to me that the animal was in distress in the video but all's well that ends well, the moose is in a better place now and getting the care it needs. I hope that it can be returned to the wild someday instead of ending up in a zoo.
