I know what a kill chain is in the IT industry as it relates to cyber attacks, viruses, and malcode. I'm not sure when that particular term entered the parlance of the US Navy but apparently it's in use now, at least at the executive level. Then again, just because the CNO says it doesn't mean that the rest of fthe fleet would use the same terms.
