Ms. Dusty Darrah of Firehouse Quilts of Colorado and two of her fellow quilters visited Elk Creek Fire this morning to present the department with a supply of Snuggle Quilts. These will be carried on all Elk Creek ambulances and will be given to children and their mothers in time of crisis. A presentation ceremony was held at 11:30am, at Elk Creek Station 1, 11993 Blackfoot Road, Conifer, CO.
Firehouse Quilts of Colorado is a non-profit, volunteer organization that hand makes the 45-inch square Snuggle Quilts. The quilts are donated to fire departments and ambulance services across Colorado. To learn more about Firehouse Quilts of Colorado visit:

"Space aboard an emergency vehicle is precious, and while these quilts aren't medically necessary, they may help make the worst day in a child's life just a little better," said Deputy Chief Jacob Ware.
Elk Creek Fire Department provides fire and emergency medical services within the communities of Aspen Park, Conifer, Pine Junction and parts of Pine, Evergreen, and Bailey, Colorado.
