A citizen received an email from 'EZ-Pass' alerting her to a failure to pay a toll. For convenience's sake a 'form' was attached to submit payment. Thanks to the citizen's anti-virus software alert, and recollection of never having driven on a toll road she then called the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Fraud Hotline at: 303-271-5550.
JCSO investigators, along with E-470's web site, warn citizens that this is indeed an email phishing scam. DO NOT CLICK THE LINK PROVIDED. Delete the message immediately.
