A huge congratulations to the Conifer Lobos Unified Boosters, Conifer High School, and students for being awarded a grant from Great Outdoors Colorado for the amount of $280,000 in order to complete funding for their Light the Lights project. This will allow the school to hold night games starting in the fall of 2015, and upgrade their team facilities.

Accepting the award were Principal Wes Paxton and Katie Bartojay, President of C.L.U.B. Also in attendance were representatives from Jefferson County Public Schools, Jefferson County Open Space, Great Outdoors, and the Daniels Fund which helped support this effort with a tremendous donation.

Great Outdoors Colorado presented student athletes with a check at a surprise pep rally at Conifer High School.

The Conifer Lobos Unified Boosters organization has raised about $75,000 toward its goal to get lights at the school's Lobos Field, said Laura Cardon, a spokeswoman for Great Outdoors Colorado.

The funds and grant are steps toward the school's bigger goal of $1.6 million for field improvements.

Update from C.L.U.B. Don't forget they are organizing the July 25th Elevation Celebration 5K Walk/Run/Dog Walk with Conifer Area Council's Trails Team - proceeds from that event go to both organizations to help keep improving our community!
