Stupid gardening question time!

Okay, I know I'm jumping the gun a bit here but I'm starting to plan our garden for the coming year. We have a south-facing deck that gets #$%@&%#)@*& hot! I want to put some containers out there with stuff that likes full sun but I don't want to fry them. I'm thinking put some shade netting over the deck at the hottest part of the day to protect the plants.

Has anyone tried that? Is there any product out there that y'all can recommend?

Shadecloth.

On sale at Sears.com 25x6ft piece on sale for 38.47 I am sure you can search around and get bigger pieces. Gardening supplies site also have a lot of choices.

I have shadecloth from an old shade shelter that is permanently installed on the west side of my greenhouse.

Plan on watering twice a day.
