2014: Year in review Turmoil in the school district, and a former fire chief goes to prison

The year 2014 offered the usual panoply of news in the 285 Corridor, but the biggest story by far was the political turmoil in the Jeffco school district.
Numerous controversies led to student walkouts at Conifer High School and throughout the district; sick-outs by teachers and a no-confidence vote by their union in school board President Ken Witt; the departure of the district’s longtime superintendent; and rancor over a major change in the way teachers are paid.
