Jefferson County, CO. – On Monday, July 13th at 10 a.m., a special ceremony will be held at North Table Mountain Park in Jefferson County to unveil a memorial highway sign honoring Sgt. Dave Baldwin. Sgt. Baldwin was killed in a head-on collision with a wrong-way driver while on patrol on his motorcycle on January 26, 2014. His legacy will live on, thanks in part to the passing of a resolution at the Colorado State Capitol on February 17th to rename a portion of Highway 93 in Baldwin's honor. The eight mile stretch of Highway 93 from mile marker zero in Golden to Colorado State Hwy. 72 will now be named, “Sgt. David M. Baldwin Memorial Highway.”

Sgt. Baldwin’s legacy will continue to be one of dedication, commitment and loyalty to his community, family and to law enforcement.

Jeffco Sheriff Jeff Shrader said, “This extraordinary Colorado peace officer is a tribute to all who serve and protect”.

For those attending, parking will be at the North Table Mountain Park parking lot located at 4758 Hwy. 93 just north of the Golden city limits. The actual ceremony will be directly north of the parking lot entrance on Hwy. 93. During the morning of the 13th, entrance to the parking lot will only be allowed by northbound traffic on Hwy. 93. Cars traveling south on Hwy. 93 will not be allowed to cross traffic to pull into the parking lot. Departures from the parking lot must exit to the north on Hwy. 93.

Media is welcome and encouraged to attend this ceremony.
