Deputies are asking for the public's help to identify a man who tried to kidnap a teenager yesterday in Little Park.

At approximately 2:35 p.m. Thursday, a Jeffco deputy was flagged down near the town of Idledale by a 16-year-old female, reporting an attempted kidnapping.

Just minutes earlier, the juvenile was jogging through Little Park when an adult male tried to engage her in conversation. The male then grabbed the girl by the arm and started to drag her. The victim broke free from his grip and ran away, while the suspect gave chase for a short distance. The female was unharmed but extremely frightened.

The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male, 25-35 years old, 5’10”, 150 lbs., short black hair, wearing black sweat pants, a grey hoodie, white shoes and dark sunglasses.

With assistance from the victim, the Sheriff’s Office was able to complete a composite sketch of the suspect. Anyone with information regarding this crime or the suspect is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 303-271-5612, or call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP(7867).
