The National Weather Service has posted a Frost Advisory. This is in effect from 2:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. Saturday October 24.

High relative humidity, and temperatures dropping to the Dew Point will result in Frost, especially in the lower foothills.

Temperatures should warm enough by 8:00 a.m. Saturday to melt the frost. Sensitive plants and vegetables still outdoors should be protected overnight tonight, into Saturday morning. The map below shows the blue-shaded areas covered by this advisory.

Funny we have had frost many nights but we are at 8800 feet. The snow on everything took out all the rest of my flowers. I am sad to see them go but had them longer than last year.

I just covered up my tomatoes, hope they make it! Thank you Steve!

I have never had fried green tomatoes, if you can believe that. These are pretty small though (two of my 4 plants are grape tomatoes and the heirloom plants just didn't get big).

The 5" of snow did us in. Some critter ripped up the plastic that covered our hoop house and the snow totally collapsed the rest. We got lucky and the tomatoes that did freeze were caught quick enough that they did not turn to mush when they thawed.
