Hello TheLoneAviator and welcome to My Mountain Town!
I have a couple of friends who keep bees and who live in Bailey, but they are not online. Did you have a question to ask? I'd be happy to pass it along and post their answer.
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

I used to keep bees in my former State before moving here (novice though). I was wondering about hive design for over-wintering the bees here & where I might get knowledge on Mountain Bee Keeping. Was thinking about adding a couple hive next spring.
Interested in their responses. I know one in the past from the Bailey area. Bears seem to be a major problem so they finally gave it up. It seems the temperature was fine and they did thrive.
I've reached out to my friends, as soon as I hear back I'll let you know!
