The Jeffco School District is asking for community input on its budget. If you could fill out this online survey by tomorrow, that would be most helpful.

Welcome to the Jeffco Public Schools interactive budget tool. The district recognizes the importance of hearing from its community and we want to hear from you. This interactive budget exercise enables you to share your thoughts about prioritizing new funds and/or repurposed funds to invest in the future of our students. Your input will help inform the Board of Education as they move forward with decision-making for setting 2016/2017 budget priorities.

Why It Matters
Limited new funding is anticipated from the state for 2016/2017. While this exercise focuses on how best to allocate $6 million, please understand that the amount of funding is hypothetical. Until the Colorado school finance bill is approved, generally in May, the district can only estimate the amount of additional funding that may be received, if any. Your challenge will be to determine how best to invest those funds. Despite the amount of funding used here, your voice about how to set budget priorities for the district will be heard.

How the Feedback will be Used
The results of the exercise will be provided to the Board of Education and published on the district’s website. The choices you make in allocating the funds will inform the board on your priorities.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
