Peaceworks, Inc Exiting Thrift-Store Business, Liquidating Peace Boutique

Dear Valued Shoppers, Supporters and Volunteers,

On behalf of the Board of Directors for PeaceWorks, home of the Mountain Peace Shelter we would like to let you know that we are exiting the thrift-store business.

We have turned over operations of the Mountain Peace Boutique to a Bailey resident experienced with liquidations. We are grateful for the donations that have been made and the volunteer hours contributed. Proceeds from selling all the donations during April and the first week of May will benefit our Domestic Violence Victims, their children and their pets.

This decision to discontinue owning a business was made after input from a community based committee, an outside non-profit consulting firm, and a review of the organization’s mission. PeaceWorks mission and focus is providing shelter and a crisis hotline. Operating a retail business was a distraction to our mission of providing this continuum of services for Domestic Violence (DV) Victims in our community.

The focus this year will be on major shelter renovations. We would love to have your support in our efforts to reach more DV clients in our area. Look for us at Bailey Days where we will be hosting a Silent Auction.

To discuss major shelter renovations please call Mike Maruniak at 303-746-3346.
To contact the liquidator: Larry at 720-454-2044

We are excited that a group of dedicated Boutique volunteers are in the process of creating a non-profit. They have plans to open a community thrift store in the Bailey area. More information to follow.

Respectfully,
Michele Maruniak
Board President
